"How much money do I need to start investing?" - Vol 1.

A lot of people ask the question "How much money do I need to start investing?" It's just something that reflects the American person's complete lack of education when it comes to savings and investing - which is really sad. Our economy is based so heavily on spending that we forget there is even such a thing as investing (which, by the way, is a form of spending). The answer to the question of "How much money do I need to start investing?" is zero.

Zero dollars.

What you need is knowledge. Money can come later, and there are many places that will even allow you to open an IRA with just $25. Get to the library and start reading up on investments. How old you are and what your life goals are will greatly affect the types of investments you need - i.e. stocks vs bonds vs money markets, gold, and so on.

So, stop worrying about money and start worrying about what you are going to do with it when it comes!
